Title La France Textiles - Ruins After 1929 Fire

Description A black and white photo with white border of the charred remains of a building's interior (also coated in ice crystals). Identifiable items in the room are a desk with books on it and the frame of a rolling cart (?). The rest is unidentifiable rubbish. Handwritten on the back is "II" and "2".
Provenance Part of group X1982.01.26 - X1982.01.46 This is a view of a La France Textiles Limited building located on the north side of Dundas between Beale St. and York St. This view was taken from inside the burned out building shell. The Dundas St. section of the La France building caught fire on January 19, 1929 and it was completely destroyed. The company erected a new building at the same location. Today (2002) the Woodstock Police Station and Swiss Chalet & Harvey's Restaurants are at that location. Harvey's is now vacant (since the end of 2001).
