Description A black and white 1/2 length photo of a soldier with moustache. He is wearing a hat with maple leaf shaped cap badge. His collar 'dogs' are the same. An emblem that appears rectangular and may read "CANADA" is near the shoulder point on his epaulets. The background is a light shade, studio backdrop/ The photo has black bordering on the right edge. It is matte finished, of medium contrast and has full depth of field.
Provenance William Jerry (b. 1883-08-12) was a Sergeant in the Oxford Rifles. He was the last drum major in the Oxford Rifles Bugle Band. See file for a copy of his WW1 attestation paper Regimental #675349. He enlisted January 1916 while he was living on Factory Street in Woodstock. In 1918 he was not listed in the Woodstock Directory so, presumably he was at war. In 1928 he was a Police Sergeant living at 128 Railway St. in Woodstock (in 2002, called East Park Drive).
