Description A black and white photo of 39 band members on glossy print paper with high contrast and full depth of field. The photo has a white border. Front row: 18 In uniform plus one man at extremely left. He is the only one of the 39 not in some type of uniform. He has an embroidered badge on his jacket which reads "The Imps" and "Woodstock, Ontario". Back row: 20 In uniform. Includes 4 men of the colour guard and 2 bayonettists. The photo was taken outdoors on a grassy area with trees, sky and a building in the background. Seven drums are displayed in foreground. Some band members are holding their instruments. Stamped on the back of the photo is "GASPARATTO STUDIO 19 Riddell St., Woodstock, Ont.".
Provenance Band officially named "Imperials" in spring of 1956. Imperial Band - Canadian Legion (Associated with Legion ? D.S.) Homer Long is 7th from left in the back row. Don Austin's wife is a second cousin to Homer Long.
